In 2021, Nation Prospère established an Acadian Heritage Advisory Committee made up of seven Maritime historians, all experts in Acadian history. Members of this committee worked on the research and nomination of Joseph Broussard dit Beausoleil as a person of national historic significance, as well as other files surrounding events and people of national historic significance.

Beausoleil Broussard's designation as a person of national significance was confirmed on August 15, 2023. Since then, steps have been taken to develop a commemoration project surrounding the legacy of this leader of the Acadian resistance during the Great Upheaval. This project is currently underway.
